With a total makeover in 2007 the MV Dive Race promises something different from the budget class Similan liveaboard group. She is an extremely comfortable liveaboard vessel at 26 meters long (84 ft.) and 6 meters wide (18 ft.). While this is not huge by Thailand liveaboard standards she offers three gigantic advantages over her rivals: she is the least expensive Similan liveaboard that features en-suite cabins, she has a complete Enriched Air Nitrox blending station, and she takes a maximum of only 14 guests in seven well appointed and air conditioned cabins.
The Dive Race is a budget class liveaboard with a small price and big service. She is rated as a Dive Adventures Asia top pick!

Choice of Cabins
There are a total of seven extremely comfortable cabins that will accommodate 14 guest (18 on a full charter) in a style that is well above the budget price class. Dive Race has two Master double cabins, one Deluxe double cabin, two Deluxe twin cabins, and two Standard twin cabins. All the cabins, which are spacious and airy, feature air conditioning, sea view windows, comfortable bedding, shelves for your belongings, and reading lamps for relaxing in the evening with your favorite novel. The standard twin cabins share a hot and cold shower with toilet, while the Master and Deluxe Cabins are en-suite with toilet, hot and cold shower, mirror, hand basin, and towels provided. The Master and Deluxe Cabins are on the main deck while the Standard twin cabins are on the upper deck.
There really is an option for everyone on this budget class liveaboard, from singles on a budget to friends traveling in a group. The MV Dive Race definitely has it all at a price that won't leave you crying at the bank.
Entertainment, Dining, and Common Areas
The comfortable air conditioned saloon, which is paneled in asian hard woods, is large enough to seat everyone on the boat and comes complete with a television, DVD entertainment system, a very large selection of movies, a lap top for viewing your digital photos or sending an e-mail, and a nice selection of fish identification books and diving magazines. This area is a favorite place to cool off between dives or relax in the evening with friends. Great thought and care has gone into planning the comfort and safety features of this Similan liveaboard. The Dive Race is sure to feel like your home away from home.
Meals are served in the shaded and open air deck area just to the rear of the indoor saloon. This area has asian hard wood tables and picnic style benches where you'll enjoy a spectacular view of the Similan Islands and a sea breeze while dining on delicious Western food, and Thai cuisine served buffet style. There will be complimentary snacks, tropical fresh fruits, cakes, hot tea, coffee, and drinking water served throughout the day. The food is quite exceptional so eat as much as you like. Our personal favorites are the red chicken curry, Thai mango salad, and BBQ chicken.
There is a wonderfully large area on the upper most deck for relaxing in the sun or star gazing in the evenings. This is one of the most popular places on the Dive Race and is a great place to just sit back and relax with a cocktail or a beer after a great day of diving.
Top of PageA Spacious Dive Deck and Nitrox
The dive deck is spacious and well designed with air fills done for you after every dive. Put your gear together at the beginning of the trip and forget about it. The helpful deck crew will assist you as you giant stride off of the dive platform, and again when you surface and return from your diving.
The Dive Race is equipped with a complete Enriched Air Nitrox blending station so you certified nitrox divers can make the most of your bottom time. If your not yet nitrox certified then take advantage of this opportunity to get your certification and start enjoying longer dive time in deeper water.
