Luxury Cabins

At 38 meters (125 ft.) long, with three decks the Komodo Dancer accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in two Owner Cabins, two Deluxe Cabins, and four Twin Cabins which are all exquisitely appointed with Indonesian artifacts, have en-suite facilities, include kimonos, provide hand and beach towels, and have individually controlled air-conditioning. The huge Owner Cabins are absolutely magnificent and feature large queen size beds, panoramic windows, large wardrobe, reading lamps, and comfortable linens. These are the only two cabins on the upper deck and they have private doors connected to the outside areas. The remaining six cabins are on the lower deck and are accessed by a staircase from the main deck. There are two large Deluxe Cabins which feature double size beds, port hole windows, reading lamps, and large wardrobe. The remaining four cabins are Twin Bunk Cabins which also feature reading lamps, comfortable linens, and nice size wardrobes. All cabins are finished in beautiful rich teak wood which lends itself to a warm and airy feeling. Each cabin comes with early morning wake up service with hot drinks provided.

Entertainment, Dining, and Common Areas

The Dancer is massive and with only 16 guests onboard it is always easy to find a place to be alone or spend some time with your fellow explorers. For relaxing between dives or in the evening the interior air-conditioned saloon is as charming and rustic as the guest cabins. Most everything in the saloon area is constructed of or finished in asian hard woods giving it a warm and classic feeling. There is a video and entertainment system for your use, and a library of marine and general interest books. On the upper deck there is great area for enjoying a morning sea breeze and a cup of coffee before diving, improving your tan lines, or enjoying the sunset with a cocktail or two.

After an early morning beverage is delivered to your cabin, breakfast is cooked to order and is always accompanied by fresh fruit and cereals. Lunch is buffet style and is generally delicious and varied Indonesian cuisine with other additions. In between meals, high energy snacks are provided to maintain your power for diving. When the diving day is over it's time to sit down for dinner around the main deck dining table and enjoy a broad range of wonderful international dishes and a wonderful glass of wine. Beer and wine are all inclusive on the Komodo Dancer which usually creates a warm and friendly atmosphere in the evenings as you relax with your fellow divers beneath the stars and share your stories from the day of diving.

Built with Photographers in Mind

Komodo scuba diving provides a plethora of photo opportunities and the Komodo Dancer is comprehensively set up for underwater photographers and videographers. The Dancer comes complete with dual voltage charging stations, large camera set-up and storage areas, digital download and burn facilities, and also features film-making capabilities. Large tables in the lounge make working on cameras and housings a breeze and there is a large tool kit if things start to get really serious. Laptop power points are situated at the tables to make it easy to download and edit. Transporting your imaging equipment to the dive sites is worry free as the dinghies have sprung rubber flooring for camera protection. When the diving is over there is a huge wide-screen TV in the lounge for video and image viewing and presentation. There are always onboard experts at your disposal to help you capture or edit your incredible pictures and video.

Diving in the Komodo Islands gives divers such a huge range of subjects, large and small, that it is a great place to learn to take photos of your own. The Komodo Dancer has underwater camera and video rental equipment onboard to get you started. High quality digital and still video can be shot, downloaded, and edited with the guidance of the experienced dive crew so that when you get back home you can enjoy your Komodo diving adventure with family and friends.

State of the Art Nitrox Facilities

Diving with nitrox has become the rule rather than the exception on Komodo liveaboard cruises. When doing multiple dives a day, to depths of 20 meters or more, the elevated levels of oxygen in nitrox keeps divers safe and out of the dreaded decompression zone. The Komodo Dancer was the first vessel in the region to offer nitrox and runs a Nitrox Technologies (NT system) membrane system to produce EANx. This is the latest method of production and is very safe and accurate. There are five separate O2 analyzers onboard to enable our divers to analyze and log their own cylinder (32%) with every new fill. The NT system differs from other production methods in that nitrogen is subtracted from the mix rather than adding oxygen - so no heavy cylinders onboard. Production limit is 40% for SCUBA or rebreather use.

Komodo Dancer Service and Experience

The crew and dive masters aboard the Komodo Dancer are some of the most experienced and professional in the diving industry. They have been sailing and diving in and around the Komodo Islands for years and their enormous passion for scuba diving and the underwater world adds further to the special diving adventure the Komodo Dancer offers. The crew attempts to pass their enthusiasm along to their guests with detailed dive briefings and a knowledge of marine life that is unsurpassed in Indonesia. The commitment of this liveaboard is to an outstanding and unique diving experience combined with the highest level of customer service and comfort available. With 18 staff onboard your satisfaction is priority number one.
