Built in 2002 and totally refitted in 2007 the Black Pearl is a traditionally crafted liveaboard cruiser made of exotic balua wood and fine finishes. At 29 meters (96 ft.) long and 8 meters (26 ft.) wide she provides the ultimate in rustic character and easily accommodates a maximum of only 14 guests in 7 Double / Twin Bunk Cabins. All of the cabins are furnished with individually controlled air conditioning, finished in warm balua wood, and have en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold water.
The Black Pearl features several outdoor seating areas for relaxing, as well as a spacious air-conditioned indoor lounge equipped with TV and DVD player. The indoor lounge is perfect for viewing your photos and video, or exploring the extensive library of marine and general interest books available. For relaxing in the evening sea breeze, watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean, or brushing up on your tan there is also a large outdoor sundeck on the upper most level.
Taking you to the very best diving available the Black Pearl does not have a set itinerary and announces her intended route at the beginning of every safari. Comfortable Maldives diving made affordable!

Cabin Choice Made Easy
With 7 rustic cabins the Black Pearl is perfect for couples or single divers alike. The cabins are very well laid out, roomy and spacious, and have porthole windows for added natural light. All cabins are of the same configuration and feature a Double / Twin Bed.

There is no single supplement on this liveaboard if your willing to share with another diver.
Entertainment, Dining, and Common Areas
The main deck indoor dining area is where delicious buffet style local and Western meals are served up hot and fresh each day. Eat as much as you like, the food is delicious. The bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities are there for your use, make yourself at home.
Your morning breakfast will consist of toast, jam, fresh fruit, juice, tea or coffee, and freshly prepared egg dishes cooked to order. Lunch is usually a light meal featuring chicken, fish, rice, pasta, salad, and fruit. At dinner, a choice of curry, fried chicken, and fish dishes are served with fresh vegetables and a salad. The food on offer comprises a nice balance of Asian and International specialties. Throughout the day there will be numerous snacks on offer which include: homemade cakes, fresh fruits, grain cereals, and tasty cookies. There is also a full service bar where beer, wine, and spirits are available at reasonable prices.

The indoor saloon houses the home entertainment system including a flat screen TV, DVD player, and stereo. There is an extensive movie and music library as well as plenty of marine books in several languages. The large picture windows bring in fresh sea breezes and cool air making this a great area for socializing or relaxing in the evenings or afternoons.
For you sun worshippers there is a large sun deck on the upper most deck complete with lounge chairs and amazing views of the Indian Ocean. There are also two large shaded outside areas on the main deck, front and aft, where you can relax in the outdoors.The covered area in front of the main saloon is our favorite spot to enjoy our afternoon tea or have a cocktail or two in the evening while watching the sunset on the Indian Ocean!.
A Dive Dhoni with it All!
Diving activities are conducted from custom built dive dhoni which will accommodate 14 divers in comfort. The dive dhoni is accompanied by a captain and dive staff. The dive dhoni is a fully functioning diving vessel that will provide fast and safe transfers to all the dive sites.
Designed with comfort and convenience in mind, the dive dhoni is staffed and operated by experienced dive professionals with varied backgrounds. All dive personnel are specially trained in the marine ecology of the Maldives and are more than happy to show divers the local attractions as well as impart their knowledge of the local marine environment. The enthusiasm and dedication of the dive staff is evident in their interaction with guests, always with special attention on educating divers and promoting the safety and protection of the amazing ecosystem of the Maldives.

Liveaboard Trip Prices Include: All prices are per person and include accommodation on board, all meals, most drinks (drinking water, coffee, tea, etc.), professional dive master services, scuba tanks, weights, weight belt, air, up to 3 dives per day, one night dive, BBQ on a deserted island when possible. We also include greeting and transfer to and from Male International Airport and the liveaboard. Non divers receive $10.00 U.S. off of the diver rate!
Additional Charges: Equipment rental is not included in the above prices and can be paid for upon arrival. Equipment rental is $33 U.S. per day for a full set of equipment including a dive computer. PADI diving courses, and alcoholic beverages will also be paid for on the boat. There is a Maldivian Bed Tax of $8.00 per night also paid onboard. The GST of 3.5% will be paid at booking. Dive computers for every diver are obligatory in the Maldives and can be rented upon arrival for $8.00 U.S. per day.

How to Get There: With so many international air carriers flying directly into Male, the capital city of the Maldives, there is no need to book your liveaboard trip as part of a package deal and pay hidden fees. The most cost effective way to dive the Maldives is to pick a liveaboard of interest and then book your flights directly to Male. You will be greeted in Male and transferred to your liveaboard. Its that easy!
There are direct flights from Europe, Asia, and the United States. If your flying from the U.S. the most direct route is via Singapore.

Black Pearl Maldives Itinerary
The itinerary of the Black Pearl is meant to deliver the best diving of the Maldives within the time allotted for the liveaboard cruise. Her schedule will consist primarily of 8 Day / 7 Night to the best dive sites around the Ari, N. Male, and S. Male Atolls. All Black Pearl liveaboard cruises will depart from Hulhule harbor near the capital city of Male.
Sample Itinerary
Day of Boarding (First Day on the Black Pearl)
Morning or afternoon flight to Male International Airport, pick up and transfer from the airport by speed boat or dive dhoni (depending on sea conditions the boat ride takes about 10 minutes). You should try to arrive as close to 12:00 noon as possible. If you have an earlier or later flight pick up is possible all day long on the day of arrival. Some guests will arrive the day before boarding and stay at a nearby hotel on Male or Hulhule.
Diving Days (Depending on the length of the Cruise)
- Up to 4 Dives per Day
Day of Departure ( Last Day on the Black Pearl)
Morning breakfast and gear packing, then transfer by boat to the Male International Airport around 8:00 a.m. to connect with your departing flight.
