The
Pelagian was built at the Batservice Verft A/S Shipyard in Mandal,
Norway, as an elegant world-ranging motor yacht. Her construction
was to Lloyd's +100A1 yacht and +LMC classification, and she was
designed to travel the world's oceans in comfort, safety and style.
She has operated all over the world: in the Red Sea and the Seychelles,
Thailand and Burma, throughout the South Pacific, and all over the
Indonesian Archipelago. Now based at Wakatobi Resort, she has access
to some of Indonesia's most remote and pristine diving, as well
as the added convenience of easy logistics and wonderful consistent
shore support.
At 35 meters (115 ft.) long and 7.5 meters (24 ft.) wide she accommodates
a maximum of 12 guests in six air conditioned, en-suite cabins ranging
in size from the master suite to the standard cabin. The master
suite which is on the main deck is the largest cabin and features
a king size bed, entertainment center, porthole windows, sofa, love
seat and a separate vanity room. The super deluxe room features
two double size bunk beds, love seat, picture window, and lots of
room for your belongings. With two single beds positioned length
wise and separated by shelving the two deluxe cabins are perfect
for singles. The two standard cabins offer single bed accommodation.
Because of her size and her design as a private luxury yacht, guest
on board the Pelagian will always be comfortable and experience
the ultimate in luxury. With an air conditioned saloon, outdoor
dining area, and forward sun deck there is always ample room for
the limited number of guests to relax between dives or enjoy a sunset
on the Banda Sea. To complement her size she also offers e-mail
services, camera workshop, hot showers on the dive deck, 24 hour
refreshments, and a book library and cd collection which is second
to none. More than a just another dive boat, the Pelagian really
is a luxury yacht disguised as a liveaboard vessel. She has been
host to renowned underwater photographers, adventure divers, documentary
makers, magazine writers, and film crews.
For divers, Pelagian's new home at Wakatobi means offering new and
exciting diving opportunities in the extended Wakatobi region and
the Banda Sea. This much-researched area is home to some of the
most prolific, undisturbed and heavily protected coral reefs in
the region . The Pelagian is now giving divers exclusive access
to these prisitine dive destinations and offering the rare opportunity
to experience the most incredibly diverse marine habitat on the
planet. If you want miles and miles of incredible reefs with an
abundance of unique critters -- all while diving and cruising in
total comfort, the Pelagian is your choice. Easier than ever to
get to she is now offering cruises year round!!
