The MV Philkade, which started dive operations in 2004, is one of the most luxurious and comfortable liveaboard diving boats in all of Southeast Asia, and has raised the standard of luxury liveaboard diving in Thailand and Burma to a new level. Built originally as a private yacht to the highest international standards, she was converted into a luxury liveaboard diving vessel in 2002, and is now offering regularly scheduled dive trips, for the discerning diver, to the best dive sites of Thailand and Burma's Mergui Archipelago. Her normal itinerary is a 5 Day / 6 Night trip diving the best of Thailand, with a special once a month trip to the best of Thailand and Burma for 9 days and 10 nights. She also includes trips to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang into her schedule, so she truly has something for everyone.

Luxury Cabins
At 29 meters long, with three 3 decks and a fly bridge she accommodates a maximum of 12-13 guests in 1 Deluxe cabin, 3 Superior cabins and 2 Standard cabins which are all exquisitely appointed, have en-suite facilities,include daily maid service, and have individually controlled air-conditioning. The Deluxe Cabin is absolutely unbelievable, featuring a huge king size bed, panoramic windows, leather sofa, home theatre system with TV and DVD, onboard telephone system, personal safe, dressing table,and a huge wardrobe. This is the only cabin which is on the main deck and has private doors connected to the interior saloon and outdoor areas. The remaining five cabins are on the lower deck and are accessed by a staircase from the main saloon. There are 3 incredible Superior cabins which feature double queen size beds, onboard telephone system, personal safe, and large wardrobe. The remaining 2 cabins are Standard cabins also featuring onboard telephones, personal safe, and wardrobes. One of the Standard cabins has a double bed and the other three single beds. The two Standard cabins share a connected shower and toilet making it perfect for a large family, group, or divers looking to save a little money and still experience the luxury of the MV Philkade.
Entertainment, Dining, and Common Areas
One of the main features of the the Philkade is her beautifully appointed interior saloon, on the main deck, which is finished in gorgeous teak wood, leather, and stunning black granite. The richness of the woods, polished stone and the shear size of the 70 square meter (700 sq. ft.) saloon make you feel like your on a mega yacht surrounded in luxury. The saloon is furnished with two large and comfortable leather sofas, black granite dining and sofa tables, and a bar with a black granite counter for relaxing in the evening or after your dives. There is also a state of the art home entertainment center with TV, DVD, and PC workstation for viewing digital photos and video from your dives. The computer has most necessary software programs and a CD burner for you to save your dive holiday memories.
On the upper deck there is a beautiful wood dining table and chairs outdoors that is perfect for dining alfresco under the stars in the evening or just relaxing with a cocktail watching the evening sunset. Also on the upper deck, forward of the wheelhouse is a large sundeck for sunbathing which offers beautiful views of the open seas during the day and incredible stargazing opportunities in the evening hours. Don't forget the spacious fly bridge the highest point on the liveaboard with it's eagle eye views, bbq station, and sofas for relaxing in the afternoon breeze.

Liveaboard Trip Prices Include: all prices are per person and include accommodation on board, all meals, most drinks (drinking water, coffee, tea, etc.), professional dive master services, scuba tanks, weights, weight belt, air, and 3-4 dives per day. We also include hotel transfers from Patong Beach, Kata Beach, and Karon Beach.
Additional Charges: Equipment rental and national park fees are not included in the above prices and can be paid for upon arrival. Equipment rental is generally $20-$25 U.S. for a full set of equipment, depending on availability. Park fees in Thailand are 800 Thai Baht for entry and 200 Thai Baht per day. Burma also charges a fee for entry, paid in USD in the amount of $190 to $250 U.S. PADI diving courses and alcoholic beverages will also be paid for on the boat.
The Philkade also requires that you purchase diving accident insurance before departure, you must show proof before you board the boat. If you do not have it, you will be required to purchase it on the boat.

The itinerary of the Philkade is meant to deliver the best diving of the Similan Islands, Surin, Burma, and Hin Daeng within the time allotted for the liveaboard cruise. Her schedule will consist primarily of 5 Day and 6 Night cruises to the best dive sites in Thailand(Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock, and Hin Daeng / Hin Muang). With five days and the extra night, it's the perfect amount of time to really see the best of Thailand's diving. In addition to the Thailand liveaboard cruises she will also offer several 9 Day / 10 Night cruises combining the best of Thailand and the best of Burma (Mergui Archipelago).
Sample Itinerary
Day of Departure (First evening on the Philkade)
- 15:00 - 17:00 Hotel and Airport Pickup
- 18:00 Check In, Orientation, Paperwork, Boat and Crew Introduction
- 19:00 Depart from Chalong Bay While having Dinner
Diving Days 1 thru 9 (Depending on the length of the Cruise)
- 3 to 4 Dives per Day
Day of Return ( Last Morning on the Philkade)
- 06:00 Arrive Chalong Bay
- 08:30 Transfer to Hotel or Airport after Breakfast on the Philkade
