How to Get to Raja Ampat
Getting to Raja Ampat from an international destination is easy by using the following instructions. The first step is to purchase an international ticket to one of three Indonesian gateway cites: Bali, Jakarta, or Manado. There are regular international flights to these gateway cities from many European cities, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. The second step is to purchase a domestic airline ticket from your Indonesian gateway city (Bali, Jakarta, or Manado) to Jefman Airport (airport code SOQ) in the city of Sorrong. Sorong is your gateway to Raja Ampat while in Indonesia. Upon arriving Sorrong you will be met at the airport or your hotel and escorted to the liveaboard.
Please note that the Bali and Manado gateways usually require an overnight stay before proceeding to Sorrong. Using the Jakarta gateway you can usually get to Sorrong in one day.
Booking a domestic flight within Indonesia can be challenging if you are outside of Indonesia. For this reason Dive Adventures Asia would like to help you with your domestic flights within Indonesian whenever possible. When it is not possible for us to coordinate your flights or if you prefer to organize your own transport we can recommend a local travel agent who can help you with all the details. Please Contact Dive Adventures Asia for further details.
The Flight Process:
- Book Your International Flight to One of the Indonesian Gateway Cites (Bali, Jakarta, Manado)
- Book You Domestic Flights Within Indonesia to Jefman Airport (SOQ) in Sorrong
Please note that to enter Indonesia you must have a minimum of 6 months before expiration left on your passport and one full clean page for your visa on arrival.
Dive Adventures Asia recommends that when you travel to Raja Ampat you incorporate two extra hotel nights into your travel plans. One hotel night on arrival between the international and domestic flights, and one hotel night on your journey home between the domestic and international flights. This advice will be greatly appreciated should there be a flight delay, cancellation, schedule change, baggage delay, or loss of baggage. If you choose to ignore this recommendation Dive Adventures Asia cannot be held responsible for any loss as a result of the aforementioned.
We recommend that you also purchase travel insurance. In the unlikely event that you are unable to make the trip or there is an unexpected event you will be able to recover your deposit or payment. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!! www.worldnomads.com
