Definitely the best diving Thailand has to offer and one of our favorite dive destinations anywhere on the planet. The Similan Islands has it all for beginner to advanced divers.
Surin Islands and Richelieu Rock
Referred to as "Surin" this area just to the north of the Similan Islands has grown to include the actual Surin National Marine Park, Koh Bon Island, Koh Tachai Island and World famous Richelieu Rock. More remote than the Similan Islands and less visited, these dive sites are equally as impressive and offer the opportunity to encounter some of largest pelagic's of the Andaman Sea. Whales Sharks have been seen in numbers at Richelieu Rock while Manta Rays are regular visitors to Koh Bon and Koh Tachai. The Surin Islands boast fantastic scenery and the greatest hard coral diversity in Thailand. Visit this spectacular area on a Phuket Liveaboard.
Hin Daeng and Hin Muang
To the south of Phuket and Koh Phi Phi, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are considered by many the ultimate place in Thailand to regularly dive with Manta Rays and the occasional Whale Shark. These two pinnacles rising from the depths are covered in magnificent carpets of red (daeng) and purple (muang) soft corals, offer the deepest vertical wall in all of Thailand, and are great for large fish, schools of pelagic's, and incredible macro. Part of the Koh Lanta National Marine park this destination can be visited independently by a Hin Daeng/ Hin Muang Liveaboard Safari ,or as part of a 6 day best of Southern Thailand Liveaboard Safari.
